Summary
The XS1 and XP1 require a continuous and uninterrupted power supply for proper operation. Any interruption of the power supply will result in immediate shutdown of the device, which may result in a loss of cable tension and workout data. If there is the possibility of a power supply interruption, a battery backup can be used.
What Is a Battery Backup?
A battery backup is a power source that provides temporary electricity to your device during a power failure. For OxeFit users, this means that in case of a power interruption, the battery backup allows you to safely complete your exercise, end your workout, and upload your data without losing important information.
When Would a Battery Backup Be Helpful?
A battery backup can be useful if you suspect that there may be an interruption in your power supply. This could be due to:
Severe weather conditions
Power outages in your area
Keep in mind that a battery backup isn’t meant to replace utility power for your OxeFit device during regular use. It’s designed to provide enough power in the event that utility power is interrupted to finish your current set, end your workout, and ensure your data uploads correctly.
Battery Backup Specifications
OxeFit doesn’t recommend a particular brand or supplier. However, we have tested battery backup systems that meet the specifications below and confirmed they provide enough power to:
Complete your current set (about 30 seconds of exercise)
Safely exit your workout and close open sessions
Allow time for workout data to upload (within 10 minutes)
Your battery backup system should meet the following requirements for your OxeFit system:
Electrical RatingsThe output waveform must be sinusoidal. | |

Meeting these guidelines will ensure that you can finish any ongoing exercises and successfully upload your performance data to the OxeFit cloud servers, which requires a stable internet connection.
