What’s the difference between the different package benches?
The Flex option requires a standard, flat, strength bench. Meanwhile, the Flow and Peak options require a multi-functional bench for rowing and Pilates. Please note that both bench options do not incline.
What's the difference between the XS1 and XP1?
- The XS1 platform is foldable, providing better space management for your environment. You only need a set-up space of 6' x 8.5'. The XP1 will require more real estate than the XS1.
- The XS1 is for everyone! The weight capability is just as much geared toward the beginner as it is toward the seasoned, elite athlete. It is not intimidating for the beginner and is perfect for getting stronger and healthier. The XP1 has added functionality that makes it an excellent choice for rehabilitation facilities, professional gyms, and fitness clubs.
- The XS1 offers a comprehensive fitness platform with strength exercises, 6 cardio sports, and digital Pilates. The XP1 focuses on strength training and does not offer any cardio sports or pilates.
- The XS1 offers different activities (SkiCross, Row, Paddle, Canoe, Kayak, SurfSwim, and Pilates) based on your package choice.
- The XS1 comes in a variety of color options that are industry unique: Black with black, black with gray, and gray with rose gold.
- The XS1 offers a dense library of content with live and on-demand classes. Members can also track their progress, share gains and achievements with friends, and connect with the OxeFit community! The XP1 focuses on tailored programs with highly advanced analytics.
What materials is the XS1 made out of?
- The base is made of a plastic cover with a steel structure underneath.
- The pillars are made of aluminum.
- The screen is made of glass.
How does the force plate work?
The force plate is the rectangular inset at the front of the XS1 deck. It is approximately 30" wide x 18" deep. When conducting lifts, such as squats or deadlifts, stand on the force plate with both feet centered and equally spaced. When the force plate's balance meter (an advanced feature) is turned on, it will provide functionalities such as balance assessment and jump assessment. With the balance meter, you will also see real-time feedback on your center of balance to correct your form during an exercise.
How much weight can I lift?
With the XS1, you can lift up to 250 pounds from the deck and up to 140 pounds from the rack (70 pounds for each arm). Please note that digital weight will likely feel heavier than typical free weight.
How does Pilates work?
WARNING: Do not use digital Pilates if you suffer from dizziness, vertigo, loss of balance, disequilibrium, or frequent falls. Consult with your medical provider before using digital Pilates on the XS1.
Unlike the classic reformer experience that uses spring tension, OxeFit's digital Pilates will use digitally controlled tension to move the reformer. You will be able to configure your Pilates experience through the XS1 and manage the sliding force by tailoring it to your preference.
Digital Pilates equipment and accessories will consist of a carriage/seat, base, mat, tri-loops, balance bar, and ball. The sliding carriage replaces the original sliding seat of the multifunction bench. The base is an ottoman-type platform with a padded top and is approximately 18" x 24".
Is the membership mandatory?
The XS1 membership requires a one-year commitment. After the first year, you may cancel the membership but will lose access to progress tracking, classes, content, and other data. Ultimately, the device’s features will have limited Freestyle Mode features. You can perform freestyle exercises and view your workout summary, but nothing will be saved. In addition, without a membership, you will not have access to advanced settings. We are confident that you will find great value in your membership as you experience the XS1 to its full potential.
How does the subscription work for commercial space?
OxeFit’s corporate licensing model allows the commercial space owner to offer members an individual OxeFit subscription at a discounted rate with a corporate discount code. Additionally, the commercial space owner will be able to share in the monthly revenues when users sign up.

How do I turn off the device?
While turning off the device is not recommended, the power switch is located at the back of the device.
How do I properly connect the cables and accessories?
The XS1 has four cable connection points where you can connect your accessories to perform the exercises.
The first two are slide connections located on the vertical positioners, each supporting 70 pounds of digital tension or a combined weight of 140 pounds. WARNING: Never adjust the slide positions while the system is loaded.
The remaining two connection points are in the deck, supporting a combined 250 pounds of resistance. The deck connections can be found by sliding open the doors on either side of the force plate.
BARBELL: The 14-pound barbell is designed to attach to both deck connections for exercises such as bench presses, squats, deadlifts, curls, and rows.
MULTIFUNCTION BAR: The multifunction bar weighs three pounds and can be used for lat pull-downs and rowing from the slide connections.
HANDLES: Each handle can be individually attached to any connection point and can be used to perform single-arm exercises or combined with another handle to work both arms simultaneously or in an alternating fashion.
ROPE: The rope can be connected to either slide connections and used for chops, tricep extension, and certain row exercises.
ANKLE STRAPS: The ankle straps are attached to the slide connections and are used for leg workouts, including abduction and adduction movements.
WAIST HARNESS: The waist harness has two connection rings that can be attached to the deck or slide connections. The harness is great for exercises such as squats or weighted jumps.
SKIHANDLES: The SkiHandles connect to both slide connections for SkiCross.
ROW BAR: The row bar has a central connection point and attaches to both slide connections.
ADJUSTABLE PADDLE: When extended, the adjustable paddle is used for paddleboard exercises or can be shortened for canoeing.
MULTIFUNCTION BAR: The multifunction bar is attached to both slide connections for kayak workouts.
SURFSWIM PADDLES: Connect each SurfSwim paddle to the slide connections. Then, place your middle finger in the rubber loop of each paddle.

How do I increase/decrease the weight?
Use the plus (+) and minus (-) signs at the bottom of the XS1 active user screen to either increase (+) or decrease (-) the weight load.
What is the OxeDot?
The OxeDot is a wireless control device that can load and unload the XS1 system. Instead of pressing the LOAD button to start an exercise, use the OxeDot when the system is ready to start. Attach the OxeDot to any OxeFit accessory and position it where you can easily press it throughout your exercise. A long press of the OxeDot will load tension. A quick press will unload.
One OxeDot is included in each XS1 accessory package (Flex, Flow, and Peak), and it connects automatically to the device. Your XS1 will support up to three OxeDots at the same time. You must pair each additional OxeDot in order to start using it. Please read HOW DO I CONNECT NEW, MULTIPLE, AND/OR DISCONNECTED OXEDOTS?.

How do I know which OxeDot is connected if I have multiple?
Verify which OxeDot is listed under Devices in the XS1 Bluetooth settings by completing the following steps:
1. Ensure the OxeDot is upright. The chevrons in the logo should be on the left side of the X and the back clip's opening should be pointing down.
2. Open the OxeDot by twisting the front portion of the device counterclockwise.
3. Access the XS1 Bluetooth settings by navigating to the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the touchscreen and selecting BLUETOOTH.
4. View the code within the accessory and match it to an OxeDot listed under Devices. NOTE: If your OxeDots are not listed, select FORGET ALL OXEDOTS before pressing your OxeDot to reconnect and view on the list.
5. Select CONNECT for the OxeDot(s) you want to use. Once connected, the OxeDot will then be removed from the list.
6. Close the OxeDot by connecting the front and back of the OxeDot and aligning the logo's center to the left of the of top center of the device (see image below) before twisting the front portion clockwise.
How do I change the OxeDot battery?
The OxeDot requires a CR2032 battery. If there is no light when you press the OxeDot, change the battery by completing the following steps:
- Ensure the OxeDot is upright. The chevrons in the logo should be on the left side of the X and the back clip’s opening should be pointing down.

You can fold the clip slightly inward to prevent it from blocking the battery in the future.
- Close the OxeDot by connecting the front and back of the OxeDot and aligning the logo’s center to the left of the top center of the device (see image below) before twisting the front portion clockwise.
What is virtual spotter?
Virtual Spotter is a lift assistance feature that will help you complete a lift if you are growing tired. It is best practice to have this advanced feature turned on.
You can turn it on when you set up your movement (before starting an exercise) by toggling the Virtual Spotter feature to the ON position. If you have already started an exercise, you can turn on Virtual Spotter by navigating to Advanced Settings in the lower right corner of the XS1 active user screen and toggling the Virtual Spotter feature to the ON position.
Then, select one of the two Virtual Spotter modes: gradual or instant. When the gradual mode is selected, the XS1 will progressively reduce tension by up to 20 pounds when a struggle is detected until your lift moves again. Conversely, if the instant mode is selected, the XS1 will instantly unload all the tension and end your set if it detects a struggle. As a reminder, the OxeDot can also unload the digital weight whenever you are tired or want to end your set.
Does the bench that comes with the XS1 incline so you can do incline barbell presses?
The strength bench that comes with the Flex package and the multifunction bench that comes with the Flow and Peak packages do not incline. However, depending on your subscription, the multifunction bench supports rowing, swimming, and Pilates exercises.

What are the advanced training modes?
Advanced Training Modes allow you to maximize your training. There are six modes for the XS1: Overload, Chains, Burnout, Perturbation, Adaptive, and Reactive.
For pre-configured exercises, access the training modes by selecting Advanced Settings in your workout, located near the lower right side of the active screen. For freestyle exercises, access the training modes when you set up your movement.
You can change the training mode within an exercise by unloading the weight and selecting Advanced Settings, located near the lower right side of the active user screen.
NOTE: Unloading will end the set for strength or the exercise for cardio. Ensure Advanced Settings have been adjusted prior to loading an exercise.
THE ADVANCED TRAINING MODES
- OVERLOAD increases the resistance during a selected phase (Concentric or Eccentric) of a repetition.
_____
A NOTE ABOUT THE CONCENTRIC PHASE AND ECCENTRIC PHASE:
A rep has two different phases: the Concentric phase and the Eccentric phase. The concentric phase is when you pull the cables out against the resistance of the device or, in traditional weight lifting, raise the weight. The eccentric phase is when you release the cables back into the device or, in traditional weight lifting, lowering the weight. The concentric weight will apply during the concentric phase of your motion. If you stop moving during the exercise, the system will default to the concentric phase and will only return to the eccentric phase if you start an eccentric motion.
______
- CHAINS increase the resistance throughout the range of motion. At the minimum range of motion, there will be no additional weight. The chain weight will be slowly applied with your motions. The full chain weight will be applied at your maximum range of motion. When you start your set, the system will not start the Chains until it has determined your range of motion.
- BURNOUT increases or decreases the weight with each repetition of a set. The weight will adjust with each repetition unless the weight is higher than the maximum weight or lower than the minimum weight.
- PERTURBATION creates randomized impulses of force on the cables. Perturbation intensity is the relative strength of the random impulse - the higher the number, the greater the force impulse applied.
- ADAPTIVE increases your load during each rep until the system has determined your optimal load. Set the load to an amount you can easily lift. As long as your velocity is smooth and consistent, the load will continue to increase. Once you have reached your optimal load, the load will stay at that amount until you end your set. TIP: After loading your exercise, tap the data dial to change the data value from power to velocity. Velocity data will help you visualize your speed for adaptive strength training.
- REACTIVE helps you maintain a concentric speed during strength training exercises. Set a target concentric speed and a starting load. During each rep, the system will increase your load if you exceed your target speed. If you are below your target, the system will reduce the speed. TIP: After loading your exercise, tap the data dial to change the data value from power to velocity. Velocity data will help you visualize your speed for reactive strength training.
Do I pay for the XS1 membership per month or all upfront?
When purchasing the XS1, you must also purchase an accessory package (Flex, Flow, or Peak). The accessory packages require a one-year membership purchase at an additional cost that must be paid upfront during the initial XS1 purchase. After the first year of membership, you can make monthly payments or continue paying annually.
If you would like to purchase the device and the one-year membership, we have the option to use affirm. You can find more information here.
Do we ship to Hawaii or Alaska?
Yes, we are able to ship to Hawaii and Alaska. However, this will not fall under our flat rate delivery fee. For a custom quote on shipping prices to Hawaii and Alaska, please contact info@oxefit.com.
What kind of emergency safeguards are in place while exercising?
The XS1 has a safety feature known as a Bar Tilt that will unload the tension immediately during barbell exercises when the system detects a struggle by an abnormal tilt of the barbell. Another safety feature is called Stall Detection. If you stop for more than five seconds at the bottom of your range of motion or stop for 15 seconds at any portion of the lift, the system will unload and end the set immediately.
The XS1 also has an advanced training feature known as Virtual Spotter. When engaged, like a real spotter, Virtual Spotter will assist you when you are unable to continue to move the cables. There are two modes for Virtual Spotter: Gradual and Instant. When gradual mode is selected, the XS1 will progressively reduce the tension by up to 20 pounds when a struggle is detected until your lift is moving again. Conversely, if instant mode is selected, the XS1 will instantly unload all tension and end your set if it detects a struggle.
What is the screen resolution for the XS1?
